This hit from late 1929 (written by Buddy DeSylva, Ray Henderson and Lew Brown) was recorded dozens of times by as many orchestras - this version, recorded for VelvetTone in November of that year, is unique. The band is obscure, but
the vocalist is songwriter and part-time crooner Sammy Fain. (co-wrote "Love is a Many Splendored Thing" and "Secret Love" - more details about him can be found at "nfo.net".)
This disc was played with a worn needle in its day, and gets crackly toward the end, but it's not too noisy to enjoy.
