The songwriting team of Isham Jones and Gus Kahn, the same guys who wrote the standard "It Had To Be You", cranked out this tuneful melody in 1924. It was recorded that summer by the likes of Paul Whiteman, Ray Miller, California Ramblers, and this version
by Arthur Lange (recorded August 1st for Cameo). Arthur's band didn't stray much outside the Cameo studios, and this is one of many sides they recorded for that company. They set a medium dance tempo and infuse it with enough jazz sensibility to keep it
interesting. The record got played a lot, so there was a fair amount of noise to deal with - noise reduction treatment has diminished, though not eliminated, the crackle and hiss - the result is an improved and very listenable sound sample.
