This amusing song, written by Lew Brown and J. Brandon Walsh in 1921, is about a clueless guest who is unaware that his hosts are trying to murder him at every turn. It is energetically sung by Ed Furman and Bill Nash, a
Vaudeville duet that flourished briefly in the early 20's. The Columbia disk from which this was sampled, recorded in May of 1921, was well-loved in its time but it is much more listenable after noise reduction treatment. (The
lyrics of this song have been thoughtfully provided on-line
by Froggy's Novelty Song Lyric Collection.)
