A very few sides from this early country band have appeared on reissues: "Lorena" and "Eighth of January" appear on "Serenade to the Mountains," available at
Amazon.com, and the out-of-print Rounder LP "Banjo Picking Girl" featured the songs
"I Wish We'd Never Met" and "Christine LeRoy". This side appears not to have been reissued yet. I don't know much about these performers, so knowledgeable emails are encouraged. Columbia committed this rustic performance to wax
on April 21 of 1930. The song has a history stretching back to the 1890s, as detailed on the Mudcat forum where you can also read the lyrics. The
original owners of this disc played it nearly to death, and the disc was very noisy as a result, so it took more noise reduction than usual to make it sound presentable. The results are not perfect but they are much improved.
