"Hello, Tucky!"

by Ben Bernie and his Hotel Roosevelt Orchestra

Ben Bernie, the guy who coined the phrase "Yowsah Yowsah", led one of the more spirited Hotel orchestras in New York in the mid-to-late 20's. This brisk two-step is one of Bernie's last acoustic sides for Vocalion in late 1924. This copy had some wear on it, especially toward the end, but nothing some careful noise reduction couldn't fix. (Further reading about Ben Bernie can be found at the "Jazz Age Page" and at the "Solid!" web site.)
