The Clover Gardens was a hot spot in Greenwich Village during the Speakeasy era, and W.C. Polla led the house band there during the mid 20s. He and the band recorded for Edison regularly, and this is one from April 30 of 1925. Written by
Bud G. DeSylva, with some help from both Gershwin brothers, this tune lent itself well to the style of two-beat dance music that was becoming increasingly popular. The recording is excellent as was most anything that came out of Edison Labs.
There is some rumble at the beginning of this but it passes off after the first 45 seconds or so.
