Ernie Golden wrote this number himself, announcing to the world in parenthesis on the label that this was "Ernie's Own Numbah" (note the Ben Bernie influence, in the tune as well as the statement). This was one of the first electrically
recorded Edison diamond discs to be issued, recorded on the first of November in 1927, and it is a very fine recording. The orchestra takes this simple tune and plays around with it every possible way - the one thing they don't do is change
the key. The semi-fadeout ending may be one of the first recordings to feature this. The surface of this copy was smooth, and didn't need very much in the way of noise reduction.
