Predating the hamburgers by several generations, this old-world reel was played at Edison Labs by fiddler Jasper Bisbee on November 24 of 1923. Much of the charm of this performance is in its unvarnished and simple quality, before Country became a commercial
enterprise worthy of serious exploitation. The disc from which this was sampled had been played quite a bit, and there was some groove hiss as a result, but some of that was left in so that the tone of the fiddle would remain natural. Noise reduction was limited
to rumble, clicks, and pops.
