"Du, Du, Lichs Mir Im Hertzen"

by Dan W. Quinn

A recording pioneer, Dan Quinn made cylinders and disks for practically anyone with a recording lathe and a little time to spare. Engineers liked him because he "waxed well", and his records sold throughout the 1890's. After 1907 or so, he faded into obscurity. This is one of his later recordings, done for Victor around 1902. The disk is noisy, due to its vintage, but true to form, you can still understand what the man is singing. ("Tinfoil.com" has posted a sample of what must be his greatest recording, "Glorious Beer".)
