"Following You Around"

by Ben Bernie and his Hotel Roosevelt Orchestra

Before Ben's band turned "sweet" in the early 30's, they put out some jazz-tinged sides that made great dance music - this side in particular, recorded for Brunswick in 1926, still grabs the ear very nicely. The disc itself benefits from improvements in the electrical recording process. The distortion of the earlier electric sides is not in evidence here. The flip-side, "I'm in Love Again", can be found on the CD, "The Song is Cole Porter", but this side hasn't been reissued. (A nice bio about Ben Bernie can be found at "nfo.net".)
