Fans of old-style fiddling will like this specimen - this was recorded for Edison Labs on November 24 of 1923, before fiddle playing got seriously commercialized. It is take "A," the first of three he made of this tune. You'll note some noises
here and there - someone tried to play this Diamond Disc with the wrong needle once - but it does not seriously detract from the enjoyability of the tune. Jasper must have liked recording this one - it shows in the playing.
(Please Note: a CD has been issued on Document Records with this recording on it, but I am uncertain which "take" was used for the reissue. If
mine is a different "take," then I will keep it here, but otherwise I will be taking this page off of my site soon.)
