Johnny Marvin is actually doing the singing on this great little record, made for the Plaza Record Group in November of 1926 and released on the Cameo label. The imitation of Cliff Edwards, who ironically also performed for
the Plaza Records group, is pretty close to the original in places. The tune was written by Harry Ruskin (later wrote screenplays including the Doctor Kildare movies in the late 30s) and Martin Broones (later co-wrote songs
for the MGM picture "So This is College" including "Campus Capers"). The recording quality is pretty good for the prototype electrical equipment they were using at the time, and the record itself hadn't been played a lot so
there was not much noise to tame.
